8th Grade Graduates of 2022 December (Imbo)

I have just joined Achungo this year. My father brought me because he was not able to pay my school fees at Ondiche Primary. Here the education is much better compared to the public schools. Achungo is a very good school with a good education because they have well-trained teachers. And we have lots of good water at the school.

I live in Olare with my uncle to be closer to Achungo. My father and mother work our garden with maize and beans for our food. I have a younger brother, Moses and 3 older siblings: Joshua, Mary and Mercy.

Sometimes we have very hard times because the maize has perished. My father gets frustrated with the garden but there is nowhere else for us to grow our food. Sometimes it is so hard that we have no food and just end up surviving on water.

I love math, science, social studies and Swahili and my favorite sports are soccer and volleyball. I like studying math in the evening with my friend Akombi and during breaks we like jogging to refresh our minds. When I’m home I like helping my parents to plow the garden and after that I settle down to reading books.

In the future I want to become a doctor because I am seeing many people in our village suffering from cancer. If I can be a doctor, I can help children suffering with their body. Sometimes I just sit down and think of how I want to help my father move from farming and I cry tears of sadness. Achungo Educational Centre will enable me to reach my destination (goal). At AEC the place is too cool and you get books from the library and can read them.
