My father brought me to Achungo four years ago. I had been going to a private school by the name of Kabwana. The school had become poor because. due to the low payment of the teachers, many had left the school. At Achungo we found a much better learning program and the children are well-behaved. Teachers never miss their lessons. Every day the learning materials are provided to the students. Achungo has high standards of teaching so the learning is much better. When I first came to Achungo I was very happy because I knew that it would enable me to achieve my life goals. I thank my parent for bringing me such a good school and I also thank God for a good life.
I live in a small village called Wanyaga with my father, Jacob, and mother, Mellaniah. My father went to high school but couldn’t continue his education because he had no money. My mother left high school because she was sick for a long time and then could not return because her sponsor had died. She was deeply upset and her mother told her it was time for her to get married.
My father works our small garden with some maize and beans for us to eat. I have two sisters, ages 11 and 7, but they cannot attend school because my parents don’t have the school fees.
When I finish my schooling, I want to work in technology. I will help the needy and help the poor. The best thing about Achungo is the learning that will help me achieve a better life goal. Although my parents are jobless, I know that one day I will make them proud.
