Joan Harnet Akello Ochieng is 15 and lives with her paternal grandmother and 2 brothers (ages 9 and 15). Joan never knew her parents.
She had heard people in the village talking about Achungo and decided to check it out. She joined the 6th grade at our Rodi campus in 2018. Before that she attended Godkado Primary but says it was dirty. She told us, “At Achungo the students perform well. And we eat well.” (She especially likes the rice and beans.) We are glad that we can care for you and help you succeed, Joan!
She enjoys playing football (soccer) and reading storybooks. Her favorite subjects are English and Swahili and she hopes to become a journalist and to travel.
