8th Grade Graduates of 2022 April (Rodi)

Ian’s story:  “My father died in a road accident while riding a motorcycle taxi and my mother died while giving birth to me. I don’t have any brothers or sisters and was taken in by a friend’s father, Mr. Otieno. He was 35 and had a garden where he would grow vegetables to sell. I have been a lonely child. My guardian has no money to buy clothes or a ball.  I am not his child so he is not concerned with my life.

Director Michael found out about me and brought me to Achungo into the preschool. I then felt that my life would be changed forever. We have good classes, the environment is clean, and I got to know new people.  My teachers started teaching me and now I am in 8th grade and I am knowledgeable and always pass my exams.  I like Achungo because I learn so much.

I need somebody that can be with me because I don’t have parents or anybody to be with me. I would be happy if I found anyone who is ready to be with me. I want to become a journalist, because I am talented and have an interest in that.”
