Allan (b: August 8, 2004) joined Achungo in 2018. He attended a public school prior, and says that it did not provide a good education but at Achungo the teachers understand their subjects and do a good job of teaching. He especially likes science and social studies because he learns so much about the culture and environment and learns many things that can help him become a nurse or doctor or surgeon.
He lives with his parents, 4 sisters and 4 brothers. His father is an engineer and his mother sells fish. When he’s home, he helps care for their animals, milks the cow, and weeds in the family garden (“shamba”). On breaks at school, he likes to review his study notes and plays football (soccer).
After his schooling he wants to become a surgeon because he could earn more and help his parents and give his children a good education. He says that you learn a lot of technology to be a surgeon and to operate on people and if you can do that in thirty minutes, you know you’ll be a good surgeon. (I hope he knows that it’ll be okay to take longer if necessary)
