After Jealan’s parents died, she lived near Ongine with her grandmother before she also passed. Jealan (14) told us, “She had a small garden but most of her plants died due to poor soil. She would sometimes work as a housekeeper to earn some money. Life was not easy and we could go without food for so long.” She has 3 siblings, Paulsen, Mitchele and Mark.
Director Michael learned about Jealan about 4 years ago and brought her to Achungo. She says, “From the first I knew that I would excel in my studies because Achungo is a well-performing school with a strong Christian background. I hope to continue my studies at one of the universities in USA. I want to become a neurosurgeon after schooling. I have a dream of helping the vulnerable and saving people’s lives. I also want to be a successful person in life. May God shower Achungo with abundant blessings, Thanks to you!”
Jealan enjoys studying and playing netball during leisure time.
