Michele Ruby

Resource Development Chair

Michele has served as a senior development officer for over 25 years, engaging individual donors, corporations and foundations in meaningful, impact-oriented philanthropy. Her professional expertise includes strategic planning, board development, special campaigns, major donor development, annual giving programs, communications, proposal writing, and donor events of all kinds.  Michele became passionate about the not-for-profit sector shortly after graduating from UC Berkeley (B.A., English and Political Science) while working as an aide to U.S. Senator Peter Wilson assigned to refugee affairs. Her fundraising career has included serving as a Development Director at World Relief (10 years), and Vice President of Development at Opportunity International (17 years), and The Veritas Forum (5 years).  Michele currently serves as the Vice President of Development at Cityteam.

Michele resides in San Francisco, CA with her husband Tom, an attorney at Genentech/Roche.  They have three grown children and one lovely daughter-in-law. Michele and Tom are active members of Eucharist Church, an Anglican community in downtown San Francisco. She also serves on the Board of Starfish Project, and as a Praxis Labs development mentor.
